Why FluffGuard is your Secret Weapon in keeping your lashes fluffier for longer

Lash Care Basics

  • Wash your lashes every day, INCLUDING the day you have them applied. Yes, we know you’ve probably heard that you’re not supposed to wet your lashes for at least 24 hours after application, but with the advanced technological advancements in the adhesives we use at Lash Tonic, it’s not only possible to wash your lashes the day you get them, but it’s advised that you do so. A clean lash line is a happy lash line, and a happy lash line will hug your lash extensions for longer.
  • Use a quality lash cleanser like our Bubble Lash Shampoo. Bubble Lash has been specially developed to deliver a gentle but deep clean while protecting your natural lashes as well. And at over 300 washes per $52 bottle, it helps foster better retention for a teeny tiny price per wash. At Lash Tonic, we take the health and safety of our clients’ lashes very seriously, and expect you to do the same by using quality products to protect them between fills.
  • If you tend to wear a lot of makeup, and you want your lashes to live their best fluffy life, you need to protect them from all of the damaging ingredients in everyday makeup. Fluff Guard is the best way to do this – it’s like a dry shampoo for your lashes and is the best defence against damage caused by oils, silicones and other compounds found in makeup.
  • Don’t let your lashes get in a tangle! Brushing them at least twice a day will help to keep those bouquets blooming for longer and will prevent any discomfort that a twisted extension can cause.
  • Sanitise your spoolies. You’ll be supplied with spoolies at each appointment, or you can purchase a pack of 25 for $18 or a pack of 50 for $25. Your ‘in use’ spoolies should be sanitised every single day in warm soapy water or with alcohol spray and dried thoroughly before re-use.
  •
You need at least two dedicated lash cleansing brushes, so you can ensure that they have time to dry completely between uses. Your lash cleansing brushes should be washed and dried after every use (aka: Every. Single. Day).
  •
Please don’t use cotton buds to clean your lashes unless you want to see your lash artist cry. The cotton fibres will wrap around your lashes and destroy all those finely crafted fans faster than you can say ‘bouquet’. Seriously. Please. Just don’t.
  •
Avoid using oil and silicon-based products near your lash line. That means liquid or powder eyeliner only and no silicon primers on your eyelids.
  • Thou shalt not pick at or pull thy lashes. If you have an extension that has gone wonky, try to brush it back in place with a spoolie brush but never, EVER try to pull it off your natural lash. The adhesive is designed to bond pretty much permanently and you cannot pull an extension off without removing your natural lash as well.
  •
Try to sleep on your back. It’s better for your lashes and it’s also the best way to avoid the dreaded ‘morning face’ wrinkles that your pillow can leave etched into your skin overnight.
  •
Avoid steam rooms, saunas, spas, sunbeds and excessive heat for 24 hours after application. In the first day, your lashes can’t stand the heat, so stay out of the kitchen (or at least don’t go leaning over steaming pots, peering into hot ovens or opening the dishwasher straight after it’s done).
  • Make your life oh-so-much easier by purchasing an aftercare pack. Our Lash Tonic Aftercare packs are filled with the best lash care products designed to help your lashes look amazing for longer. Each pack includes a full size Bubble Lash Shampoo, a set of two Lint-free Lash Drying Towels, spoolie brushes, and cleansing brushes for just $89.
