What are classic hybrid eyelash extensions?

Classic eyelash extensions are lashes that are applied one-to-one on your natural lashes and are a great ‘everyday’ lash option for women wanting to enhance their look with some lift and curl to their lashes. At Lash Tonic, we offer what’s known as ‘Classic Hybrid eyelash extensions’, which involve a combination of the normal one-lash-to-one-lash application of classic lashes and Volume techniques, applying a fan of lashes to a single natural lash. Classic Hybrid eyelash extensions will make your lashes look longer, curlier and thicker, but aren’t as overwhelmingly dense and fluffy as a Volume or Mega Volume set.

Perfect for those wanting a more subtle look, or for ladies who are new to lashes, there is a length and style of classic hybrid lashes to suit everyone and your Lash Tonic Master Lash Artist will design a personalised lash map to perfectly suit your face shape and showcase your features.

Fresh on the classic scene are flat lashes. Flat lashes are the latest in classic lash technology, and with their flat profile and lighter individual weight, these lashes are able to deliver a darker, more intense finish and much longer retention, without weighing your natural lashes down and combine beautifully with our signature Bouquet Fan Technique to create a stunning lash look.

A full set of classic eyelash extensions involves applying extensions to 100% of your natural lashes that are in the ‘teenage’ phase and are capable of supporting an extension. Application time varies depending on how many natural lashes you have, but you should expect to be with us for between 1-2 hours.

What to expect at your appointment

If you’ve never had eyelash extensions before we will need you to come into the salon 24-48 hours before your appointment to have a patch test done to ensure that you have no sensitivity or allergic reaction to the adhesives used for lash application. The safety of your eyes is of paramount importance to us therefore the patch test requirement is not negotiable.

If you have had lashes applied by us before this patch test is not usually necessary but special cases may require one.

If you have had lashes applied at another salon, we will need to remove these and thoroughly cleanse your lashes before application can take place and we may require you to have a patch test as well. Please let us know when you make your appointment if this is the case and we will advise you regarding this.

What to do before your appointment

For maximum retention, stop wearing mascara 48 hours before your appointment and cleanse your lashes daily with your normal cleanser. Keep oil and silicone-based products away from your lash line for 48 hours before application and absolutely never, ever had a lash tint or lash lift prior to having extensions applied.

Right before your appointment, we ask that you remove any eye makeup you may have on and we will also complete a double-cleanse on your lashes before we start applying extensions to ensure your lashline is pristine before any extensions are put in place.
